Bring Me Flowers While I Can Still Smell Them is a blog about a journey of endearment. Jade is 22 year old African American woman who is trying to find love through life. Here she writes poetry and more about relationships with those on the outside and her relationship with herself. Whether it’s friends, family, ex-boyfriends and strangers, Jade believes that everyone connects(ed) for a reason and that this life isn’t made to feel lonely. She ultimately hopes to find a man who she can love and connect with but first she has to learn to love herself.
To those who are wondering who Jade is…
I’m like a quiet storm, it’s easier for me to write to express myself. Aside from my introverted ways, I’m highly spiritual and believe in positivity and light. I’m also pretty comical and have a huge sense of humor especially to those who are close to me. I’m constantly evolving with every change I face in my life. I really don’t have any accomplishments or credentials. For the past few years after high school it has been about survival, but now I’m in a steady place to go back to school to ultimately receive a Bachelor’s in writing and literature. I’m very conflicted with myself so I’m learning how become fearless and most importantly loving myself through the looking glass. “You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe deserve your love and affection.”
